NICOLE DURNFORD
Nicole Durnford is a mother and wife, small businesswoman & community champion.

Where I Stand
“Brantford is growing, changing, and facing real pressure. For Ward 4 residents, that change is being felt close to home in our neighbourhoods, on our roads, in the cost of living, and in the way decisions are being made at City Hall.
I believe residents deserve leadership that listens first, communicates clearly, and makes decisions with honesty, transparency, and accountability. People should not feel left out of conversations about development, public safety, taxes, infrastructure, or the future of their neighbourhoods.
As your Ward 4 Councillor, I will focus on practical, responsible solutions that protect quality of life, support families and local businesses, and make sure residents have a stronger voice in the decisions that affect them.”

Housing & Homelessness
Housing pressure, homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges affect the entire city. These issues require real action, not quick slogans. We need coordinated solutions that support those in need while also addressing the impacts residents and businesses are seeing in their neighbourhoods.
I will support practical, evidence-based approaches that connect people to support, improve community wellbeing, and help keep public spaces safe and accessible.
Affordability & Property Taxes
Families, seniors, and local businesses are feeling the pressure of rising costs. At the same time, the City must continue to maintain roads, services, facilities, and infrastructure.
I will push for responsible budgeting, clearer spending decisions, and better long-term planning so residents can feel confident their tax dollars are being used wisely.
Growth & Infrastructure
Growth can bring opportunity, but only when it is planned properly. New development must be matched with the roads, parks, transit, services, and infrastructure needed to support it.
I will advocate for responsible growth that respects existing neighbourhoods, protects quality of life, and ensures Ward 4 residents are heard before major decisions are made.
Community Safety
Everyone deserves to feel safe in their home, on their street, in local parks, and throughout the community. Concerns around crime, traffic safety, addiction, and visible disorder are real, and residents deserve a balanced approach that takes safety seriously while also recognizing the need for support, prevention, and community partnerships.
I will work to support safer neighbourhoods, stronger communication, and practical solutions that protect public spaces while treating people with dignity.
Jobs & Economic Growth
A strong local economy helps create stability for families, workers, and businesses. As Brantford grows, residents also need reliable access to transit, recreation, community programs, healthcare connections, and everyday services.
I will support policies that encourage local economic growth, strengthen services, and help Ward 4 remain a place where people can live, work, raise a family, and feel proud to belong.
Growing Demand for Services
Ward 4 residents deserve to know what is being planned, why decisions are being made, and how those decisions will affect their neighbourhoods. Too often, people feel like they are hearing about major changes after the fact instead of being included early in the conversation.
I will support open communication, clearer public consultation, and decision-making that gives residents a meaningful voice not just a notice after plans are already moving forward.
Mental Health & Addiction
Mental health and addiction challenges affect individuals, families, businesses, and neighbourhoods throughout Brantford. These issues cannot be solved through enforcement alone and require coordinated community responses.
I will support evidence-based strategies that improve access to treatment, prevention, and recovery services while ensuring public spaces remain safe, welcoming, and accessible for everyone in our community.

Change
Why Ward 4 Needs Change
Ward 4 is a growing, changing part of Brantford. Families, seniors, young people, workers, business owners, and long-time residents are all feeling the impact of decisions being made at City Hall.
As our city grows, residents deserve leadership that keeps pace, leadership that listens, communicates clearly, and makes sure people are included before major decisions are made.
Too often, residents feel like they are learning about changes after the fact. Whether it is development, traffic, infrastructure, community safety, taxes, or public services, people want to know what is happening, why it matters, and how it will affect their neighbourhood.
Nicole Durnford believes Ward 4 needs a strong voice at the table, someone who will ask questions, listen to residents, and bring honesty, transparency, and accountability to the decision-making process.
Change is not about politics. It is about making sure Ward 4 residents feel heard, respected, and represented.
Nicole is committed to bringing fresh, community-focused leadership to City Hall and working toward a Brantford that is safer, stronger, more affordable, and better planned for the future.
